Tour and travel is a popular mood of amusement among the masses from the ancient period of time , therefore many tourist visit some place around the world as per their choice of tourism spot  once in a year to spend a quality of time with their family members. At present context, it is gaining much more popularity day by day and tourism is emerging one of the most rapidly growing smokeless industries in the world, which not only create opportunity for employment generation but also growth of the state’s GDP and economy.

However, Tourism industry has disrupted due to COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent nation- wise lock down make it worse. But , Now, Situation has improving and the tourism industry is witness rapid development and number of tourist footfall has increasing day by day. In this regard, all countries rethink about their tourism industry and planning and trying innovative solution for boosting tourism industry at their respective states or nations.

In this context, in this essay, I shall discuss how tourism industry can be back into the track by “ Appropriate & Time bound initiative or Action”  with available resources and value addition of local art & crafts  from the Assam  point of view .

As most of the tourism rich state in India  has tide the node to boost tourism industry for earning foreign currency after COVID -19 pandemic , Assam  Tourism Department (ATD) also need to be work more enthusiastically  with a broad point of view,  so that Assam Tourism Department can contribute a lion share in State GDP and generate directly or indirectly more employment and promote & marketing  our rich regional  art & craft, food items  at national and international level as well as  attract more  tourist  to visit Assam once a time in his or her life.

Therefore, Assam Tourism Department has need to be shifted attention from  earlier develop & promotion of religious & historical place tourism destination  to Eco-Tourism  , Educational tourism, Medical tourism , Sports tourism and  Socio-Cultural tourism, greenery tea tourism etc . In this regard , first and for-most initiative  can be taken by tourism department to Indentify all such place or objects which gradually witness increasing tread of tourist footfall . As Assam is full of flora and fauna, historical monuments,rivers, natural -scenic spot, religious places and art and cultural rich area or district. Moreover , Assam have its fold india longest river bride, Asia old oil refinery , world famous one horned rhino and many more, which is spread across the state and need to identify urgently with proper mapping with tourist circuit and indexing

Then, categorized all such potential tourist destination like –historical, religious, Flora & fauna, Modern Engineering marvel, Educational, Medical , Sports tourism , art & culture etc. Then again Department should classified all these as per characteristics and priority wise take action  for development  of these potential tourist  destination  side.

As we know that good infrastructure and road connectivity is the back bone of any industry .Therefore, Tourism Department   has Make  plan for the development of all these tourist destination side simultaneously  and ensure achievable  roadmap for the development of   its infrastructure , road connectivity, lodging and fooding facilty, public amentias with the convergence of other departments.

Apart from this Tourism Department also rethink about the persistent conservation of all tourist destination side by using latest technology and dedicated manpower and prompt action mechanism and management. Moreover, conservation of existing world heritage site is need to be more robust and enforced all environmental and wild life protection Act to violators. Further,  awareness on tourism is necessary for better conservation and protection , hence awareness and good coordination  between is public and concerned department is necessary to boost tourist visiting.

 Moreover, Introducing and implementation of digital system for site visiting permission, ticketing , payment will definitely give a extra edge to the tourism department and pave the way for more tourist interest of the Assam and bring the all tourist information in a single digital platform will give extra advantage to the tourism department of Assam . Similarly , Government intervention is necessary and conducting of Advantage of Assam Summit is right direction in this regards,  as it will bring more investment and development in hospitality sector which is a prime factor of a Tourist for their tourism. Moreover, Government should put all efforts to bring world Heritage site for Majuli and Charaideo Maidam in upcoming days, may be resulted more global attention towards the Assam tourism.

 

Finally Publicity is necessary for all such beautiful tourist spot of the Assam and department should work in this regards , So that Assam tourism get attention and attraction at national and international level and attract more tourist in upcoming days and enhanced Assam Tourism department revenue and can contribute more  to the state GDP. Further, famous Fair and festival of Assam should be properly utilized by tourism department along with local foods , recopies and beverage, and presented to the tourist with global standard with  extreme hospitality by the local people , then Our Tourism department will rise from nascent stage to mature and becoming the main  industry of in the state of Assam.
